Lauren Dair is a 22-year-old singer/songwriter who was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. Growing up, Lauren always had a deep passion for music, but it wasn't until she moved to Los Angeles to be an actress that she began writing and recording her own music. When she was 12 years old, Lauren got the part playing Young Jess on the hit FOX show "New Girl" playing the flashbacks of Zooey Deschanel.
At the same age, Lauren wrote and recorded her first EP, "No Apologies." This experience started a chain reaction of pure creativity. Lauren started the band Gravity Hill, who toured all over California and playing world famous venues such as the Roxy, the Troubadour, and the Las Vegas Strip. With a hard-hitting alternative-rock sound, Gravity Hill started to make their mark in Southern California. When the band dissolved in early 2015, Lauren questioned what her next step would be. Using her alternative roots as an influence, Lauren decided to take her love for acoustic singer/songwriter music and mix it with the vibey, moody sound that is heard in many of her favorite bands.
Her third EP "Perfectly Flawed" was released April 22nd, 2016 and was produced by Anthony Mazza. This was her first release after leaving her band and was released independently. The music has been described as "cinematic", "moving", "vulnerable", and "powerful". After releasing "Perfectly Flawed", she released a single called "High Places" in Fall 2017. Lauren has written over 100 songs and is currently working on her 4th EP.
In 2017, Lauren won the Grand Prize in the Stagelight Monthly Music Contest II presented by Open Labs, Lenovo, Intel, and Linkin Park. Lauren won the opportunity to go into the studio with members of Linkin Park. Together, with the help of Mike Shinoda and Brad Delson of Linkin Park, they wrote and released the song "Every Little Light," which talks about struggling with depression.
